Experience Amazing St Ives Bay In Cornwall

Travelers who want to explore the Atlantic coast of Cornwall will find all they need with St Ives Bay Holidays. Quaint seaside villages are nestled up to lovely beaches inside this sheltered harbor. Fabulous coastal scenery and spectacular surfing opportunities are conveniently located to luxurious accommodations with all the comforts of home.

The stretch of beach near Giwithian on the eastern side is popular with surfers. The western side sits higher and has a rockier coast featuring small beaches separated by headlands. The western side is more populated with several small towns and villages.

St Ives is an historic fishing town that now relies on tourism as its main revenue source. Narrow streets paved with cobblestone and cottages made out of granite offer a quaint background for the cafes, restaurants and art galleries. The annual September Festival is attended by people from far and wide and spotlights all aspects of the arts including music, film, books and poetry. Visitors are encouraged to tour the many studios and see the artists at work.

The breathtaking cliff walk connects the village to Carbis Bay just one mile south. The trail has a lower branch where hikers get a great view of Trevose Head. Another trail leads from the bay up 700 feet to the fort on Trencrom Hill. Panoramic vistas include those of Godrevy Island. The lighthouse was erected there to mark The Stones Reef for incoming sea captains.

Lelant is a village situated adjacent to the mouth of the Hayle. A popular spot for bird watchers can be found at The Hayle Estuary. The oldest golf course in Cornwall is the West Cornwall Golf Club and it lies between the village and the beach. St. Michaels Way offers hikers a chance to trek from coast to coast. The course covers roughly twelve miles and has one route that passes through the village and sticks to quiet roads. The other travels via Gulval and along the coast.

Regardless of budget, there are accommodations to suite any group, couple or individual. Options include coastal retreats, beachfront apartments and rustic cottages. Plan a relaxing getaway to the Atlantic Coast.
